MSC CRUISES RECEIVES ‘BEST CRUISE LINE FOR NIGHTLIFE’ AWARD

As the year is coming to a close, MSC Cruises — the Swiss-based world’s largest privately-owned cruise line and market leader in Europe, South America and South Africa — is proud to announce another significant industry award. MSC Cruises received the 2016 ‘Best Cruise Line for Nightlife’ Award, for its rich and extensive offering of on board experiences and world-class entertainment. This industry recognition is the latest crown on a long list of trade and consumer awards throughout 2016 recognizing the superior quality and variety of the offering on board MSC Cruises’ ships.

The 2016 ‘Best Cruise Line for Nightlife’ Award, was received from Cruise Critic®, one of the largest and most influential cruise review sites and online cruise community.

According to Cruise Critic, MSC Cruises won the award thanks to Broadway-style shows that appeal to all nationalities, multiple bands in multiple venues, late-night movies and discos that rock until 3 a.m. MSC Cruises’ international guests and Mediterranean roots mean that there is something for everyone, with some events lasting long after the late dinner seatings have ended for those who want to dance the night away.

Going hand in hand with its award-winning nightlife, earlier this year, MSC Cruises was recognized as having the Best Production Shows in Porthole Cruise Magazine’s Editor in Chief Awards. In addition, MSC Cruises earned a spot under Best Cruise Ships for Entertainment in USA Today’s 10 Best Reader’s Choice 2016 Awards as well as the Cruisers’ Choice Cruise Critic 2016 Awards.

MSC Cruises’ award-winning entertainment can be attributed to its offering of 6 different Broadway-style production shows on a 7-night cruise with everything from exhilarating acrobatic feats and contortionism to riveting operas and tribute shows. Guests are amazed not only at the unbelievable talent of the performers but also the dazzling costumes and well-designed sets. In addition, guests sailing on one of MSC Cruises’ four Fantasia class ships – MSC Preziosa, MSC Divina, MSC Splendida and MSC Fantasia – enjoy the nightly entertainment in the largest theatres at sea, seating 1,600 guests, with no obstructed views on either deck of the two story venue.

MSC Cruises has plans to take its entertainment offerings to yet another level on its next-generation mega-ship, MSC Meraviglia, debuting in the Mediterranean in June 2017. Guests sailing on MSC Meraviglia will enjoy two unique Cirque Du Soleil at Sea shows developed especially for MSC Cruises, which will be performed on board six nights a week. This will be a unique entertainment and dining experience not available anywhere else at sea.

This year, MSC Cruises took home seven Travel Weekly Magellan Awards, including a gold award for MSC Divina in the category of overall large cruise ship and a gold award for its Voyagers Club loyalty and status match program. MSC Divina also was awarded a 2016 Gold Travvy Award for Best Large Cruise Ship.

In addition, most recently MSC Cruises won several awards in the 2016 Porthole Reader’s Choice Awards, including best Africa/Middle East itineraries. MSC Cruises itineraries in the Emirates region include a stop at the Sir Bani Yas Island beach oasis – a 1.5 mile-long stretch of land on the natural island of Sir Bani Yas – just off the southwest coast of Abu Dhabi. Starting this December, guests sailings on MSC Fantasia will be able to visit Sir Bani Yas, with the option of exploring one of the region’s largest wildlife reserves through specially designed shore excursions. Alternatively, for those looking to relax and unwind, the island will feature a beautiful beach with a number of natural sunbathing spots and sun-drenched walking trails as well as offer MSC Aurea Spa treatments.
